I'm really excited to co-lead this workshop with Joseph! Joseph Kramer has taught thousands of men and women erotic massage and mindful masturbation. In 1984, he founded The Body Electric, a school named after an erotic trance state. He has produced over twenty-five sex education DVDs and videos, including Evolutionary Masturbation, Uranus—Self Anal Massage for Men, and Fire on the Mountain—Male Genital Massage. Ten years ago he started The New School of Erotic Touch, www.eroticmassage.com, featuring over thirty hours of video demonstrations and instruction. He helped create a new state-approved profession in California: Sexological Bodywork. His favorite word is "savor."
Human beings in all times and cultures have experimented with sex to achieve transpersonal states of consciousness. Orgasmic Yoga evolved over the last twenty-five years out of a network of sexual adventurers and researchers exploring the potential of erotic massage and mindful masturbation. The focus of these researchers was their own inner subjective somatic experience during arousal. By paying attention in the present moment to their own biological bodies, they became aware of erotic trance states. These states offered access to wisdom, creativity, aliveness and freedom not otherwise available to the human community.
Tens of thousands of men and women have awakened to the joys and benefits of these blissful states with the help of The Body Electric School, The New School of Erotic Touch, and Sexological Bodywork. As individuals, couples, and groups realized the benefits of erotic trance, a sexual yoga emerged.
Orgasmic Yoga is a pleasurable, intimate and transformative discipline, practiced while sexually aroused. The intention of most practitioners is to develop or reclaim erotic capacities. Some individuals practice to savor the awesome feelings in their body. Thus, Orgasmic Yoga is both profound somatic education and embodied meditation. Most practice sessions begin with “doing” and end with “being.”
Profound embodied learning takes place when we repeat a practice mindfully over time. Repetition is how humans learn sex. So the yoga model of education is ideal.
Erotic meditation allows the individual to focus on what is substantial rather than what is superficial. Every practice session ends with a quiet period of experiencing one’s body as real in the present moment.
“Be Here Now” becomes “Be Here Now while sexually aroused.”
There are no hidden secrets, formulas or recipes.
Erotic trance states are that place where our raw, primal energies come to the forefront. In trance, the thoughts of the mind disappear into the background and the body intuitively takes over. Rather than trancing out the focus here is on trancing into your body. Erotic trance is also the place where Eros and spirit meet.
Erotic trance states can be experienced at differing levels. At the most basic level the experience may be pleasant but the day to day reality and 'background' noise doesn't really fade away. At in intermediate level, there is more focus on the pleasurable sensations, but the background noise can reappear. Sometimes this noise comes out at performance anxiety or being a spectator. At its most intense level, the background noise completely fades away and all awareness of mundane existence fades away.
The essence of this practice is re-learning how to breathe, how to relax while enjoying your arousal, developing ejaculatory control and exploring a wide variety of specific techniques. This means learning to enjoy your entire body - not only your genitals, but your entire body. This opens unlimited horizons of bliss. It’s a means of altering consciousness by generating ecstatic chemistry in your brain and body and discovering inner integrity. Being fully present with erotic energy becomes a tonic on every level, a truly holistic practice. It’s a means of personal growth, improved self-esteem and even spiritual evolution.
The primary focus is simply paying full attention to what you are doing while feeling pleasure; waking up your entire body to its full erotic potential. Restoring the natural connection between your genitals and your heart. Engaging your entire body - not just your penis. Every man is capable of inducing erotic trance states - states that quiet the noisy mind and just allow your body to simply be. More than just producing incredible sensations (which it does!) This practice is also about loving yourself better and better. It’s an ongoing process, an attitude of self acceptance, a way to a better life and a way to open to the full erotic possibilities of relationships as well.
Unfortunately, many men continue to feel guilt, shame or at least embarrassment about how much they love erotic pleasure. Therefore our self pleasuring is kept hidden and practiced furtively. This usually prevents the process from becoming deeply rewarding and nourishing. In fact, most men get stuck in a repetitive and predictable habit - often learned at a young age - of merely relieving sexual tension. How many men have the opportunity to learn enhanced masturbatory skills and experience profound pleasure in their bodies in a supportive community? Not many!
Erotic trance states are about transformation: not changing into something else, but becoming what you already are in your core essence. It’s about letting go of illusions to get real. It’s reclaiming your original innocence and opening your heart. These states help you to become more fully present in your body, in your life and in the NOW.
This workshop will introduce men to Erotic Trance through the use breath, movement, meditation and touch – from others and from self. While experience with a yoga practice will be helpful, it is not required. Together we will create a safe space for some powerful and fun exploration (many exercises will be done with clothes off).
This workshop is a two-day in-person experience. It includes structured time to prepare you for the experience as well as to help you continue the work afterward. Advance preparation will done by individual homework and participation in an internet community. Registration includes two months of access to the entire video library from the New School of Erotic Touch and Sacred Touch School. (If you're already a member of either, we'll give you 2 months of additional access.) Early registration is encouraged.
Workshops are open to all guys. Being male is self-defined - so if you consider yourself male you're welcome to join us! All body types, ages (18 and over), spiritual paths and sexual orientations are welcome. Some of the time will be clothes off and some of the exercises will include hands on self touch or touch of others. All activities are structured to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone.
Follow-up participation will be offered via phone conference calls. A computer with internet access is recommended for workshop preparation including access to the video library.

While this workshop is not traditional yoga, some of the activities can be mildly physically demanding and may require standing for periods of time. Please consider this when deciding if this workshop is for you. Please don't view these workshops as a venue to meet potential partners. All sexual orientations are welcome and everyone's comfort is important. This is a leaning opportunity and everyone is expected to demonstrate common courtesy and respect for each other. All workshops are drug and alcohol free events. Please don't bring alcohol or drugs - this includes poppers. |

Your confirmed place in class will be secured by payment of the tuition. Payment may be made by check or credit card. Situations may change once you register. If you decide to cancel a workshop at least 2 weeks or more before the event a full refund will be made less a $50 processing fee. No refunds are made if a cancellation request is received less than 2 weeks before the event. You may elect to apply the full amount paid to a future event. You are allowed one transfer per registration and you will have one year to use the credit. You are responsible for any tuition difference. If you apply this transfer credit to another event and cancel, do not attend or leave early there is no further refund, credit nor transfer. If you leave once an event starts, there is no refund nor transfer and no exceptions. |
