What
I've Been Up To
I know it's been a while since the last newsletter and I've got lots to write about!
As some of you know I've been feeling that I'm on the edge of exploring something really big. I've felt a calling to help men explore our bodies and explore our erotic energies. I love working with men one on one to do this, but I'm also aware that there's something bigger I want to do in this area. I just don't know exactly what that something is yet.
I decided to explore this calling by looking into the CTI Co-Active Leadership Program. I've heard a lot about this program from my friends and a few clients. I liked it because it's not just sitting around in a group discussion. It focuses on creating experiences in my body to uncover the leader inside me.
The retreat also helped me get to know my true self - when I am my genuine and real self as opposed to when I'm trying to be somebody else. Have you ever seen an actor who is playing a role that is not suited for them? Many times in life we all try to play roles not suited for us. Now that I have a better sense of who I am I can be my genuine self with much more confidence.
Part of the retreat is a ropes course that gave me the experience of doing things that I never would have dreamed I could do. The course was in a beautiful setting among a grove of large redwood trees. The course pushed me to my edges. It gave me a new perspective on my skills and ways to work through things in spite of my fears and limits that I put on myself. It was definitely something I'll remember for the rest of my life!
I can't wait for the next three retreats!
Savoring
With the holiday season approaching it's easy to get sucked into being busy and doing lots of things. I'd like to invite you to make time for yourself. Take the time to breathe and savor being alive. When things get crazy around you take a few nice deep breaths - inhale slowly and deliberately then exhale without forcing the air out. You'll be surprised at how relaxing taking a few breaths can be!
There are three primary types of breaths that I practice. The first, the anal breath, is core to everything. With this breath you expand your belly and feel your pelvic floor expand toward the ground. As you inhale you can feel your anus expand. It may be a bit awkward at first, but you'll quickly get the hang of it. Hold the breath very briefly and slowly let the air out. The second breath is the circular breath. This breath is more continuous than the anal breath. There's no hold or transition between the inhale and the exhale. The third breath is the fire breath. This is a very fast breath that infuses the body with oxygen. You may find that your extremities get a bit tingly. But this breath is better than a cup of coffee for waking up the body. This breath is also the foundation of erotic breathing.
Videos
As you may be aware the first video is one the website and the others are... missing. I'm learning that it takes a lot of work to make even a short video. Please be patient. There should be some new videos appearing shortly.
Upcoming Event
I'll be leading an evening workshop on Orgasmic Breath at Wildwood on Saturday November 17. Wildwood is about 2 hours north of San Francisco in the hills above Guerneville. That weekend is a volunteer work weekend to get the facilities ready for winter. If you're interested in experiencing a wonderful community and scenery in exchange for some work, contact Martin at 707-632-5200.
I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!
